The Development of SiC Satisfies Future Market Applications

Silicon carbide is a widely used and existing industrial material. Silicon carbide has been the preferred material for high performance industrial applications since industrialization in the late 19th century. The material and its characteristics have led to the wide application of silicon carbide in the industry, such as military equipment, aerospace, petrochemical, wind power equipment, electric power, thermal power plants, semiconductor chips, etc.

Our company adopts the solid-phase process, and this process is prepared with solid materials as raw materials. The product that is processed by special technology has high purity and controllable particle size distribution. Therefore, the biggest advantage of the solid phase method is that the manufacturing cost is relatively low, which is convenient for batch and large-scale production.

Common Characteristics of SiC

1. High thermal conductivity: Because silicon carbide uses graphite with high thermal conductivityand other raw materials, it effectively shortens the melting time;   

2. Thermal shock resistance: Silicon carbide has strong thermal shock resistance, so it is not easy to crack in the case of rapid cold and rapid heat;   

3. High heat resistance: Silicon carbide can withstand high temperature, it can withstand high temperature of 1200~1650℃;   

4. Corrosion resistance: Silicon carbide has strong corrosion resistance against molten soup;   

5. Mechanical shock resistance: Silicon carbide has a certain degree of resistance to mechanical shock strength (when the molten material is put in, etc.);   

6. Oxidation resistance: Graphite is easily oxidized under high temperature in oxidizing mist. Since silicon carbide has been treated to prevent oxidation, its oxidation consumption is less;   

7. Anti-blocking property: Because graphite is not easy to adhere to molten soup, the penetration and adhesion of molten soup are less;   

8. Very little metal pollution: Because silicon carbide is not mixed with impurities that pollute the molten soup, it has very little metal pollution (mainly not adding iron elements in the molten soup);   

9. Resistance to slagging agent (slag removing agent): Silicon carbide has good slagging resistance (slagging agent).
